The Irina Top is worked from the top down in a 4x1 rib pattern. The back is worked first down to the armholes while shaping the increases; then the two front pieces are worked separately, shaping the neckline and armholes.
Finally, the fronts and back are joined to continue working the body. Once the waist is reached, a few decreases are worked before continuing to the desired length. The piece is finished with the body and armhole i-cords. Lastly, the button loops and buttons are sewn on by hand.
