The Simple Jacket (ENG)

About The Simple Jacket:

The Simple Jacket is worked from the top down in half fisherman's rib. You begin by shaping the shoulders with increases, then work the raglan increases, join the fronts and back to work the body and finish working the sleeves in the round. This jacket is designed to be worn open.

Sizes:

(1) 2 (3) 4 (5) 6 (7) 

To fit bust circumferences:

(80–85) 85–90 (90–100) 100–110 (110–120) 120–130 (130–140) cm.

(31.5–33.5) 33.5–35.5 (35.5–39.5) 39.5–43.5 (43.5–47.25) 47.25–51.25 (51.25–55)′′

To choose your size, I suggest measuring around the fullest part of your bust line and comparing this measurement with the finished garment measurements, keeping in mind your desired positive ease.

The Simple Jacket is designed to have 25 to 34 cm /9.8 to 13.3 ′′ of positive ease.

The sample is shown in size 1 with 25 cm/10.2′′ of positive ease.

Finished garment measurements:

Length:

(45.5) 47.5 (50) 50.5 (52.5) 54.5 (55.5) cm 

(17.9) 18.7 (19.7) 19.9 (20.7) 21.5 (21.9)″

Bust circumference:

Yarn:

Petite Wool by We Are Knitters  100 g = 140 m. 

Color: Natural. 100% wool.

(550) 650 (700) 790 (850) 870 (980)  grams.

A larger garment will require more yarn.

Recommended Needles:

5 mm/US 8 (body-sleeves) , 6 mm/US 10 (sleeves cuff), 

6.5 mm/US 10.5 (body ribbing) circular needles. 

Gauge:

13 sts x 31 rows = 10x10 cm /4′′ 

(blocked; check the photo below to see how open the stitch pattern should be after blocking).

5 mm/US 8 needles, or size necessary to obtain gauge in Half Fisherman's rib.

Level: Intermediate
